UNESCO                                                                                                                                                  UNESCO looks at cultural diversity and how to maintain the value of it. “UNESCO believes that education is a human right for all throughout life and that access must be matched by quality.” (UNESCO) This is extremely important because as teachers we are giving children the foundation for creating a successful life and career. UNESCO covers educational growth from ages Preschool, higher education and beyond. Education I feel has been put on the back burner, because it is not valued as it should be. UNESCO’s three main goals are to build peace, eliminate poverty, and drive sustainable development. UNESCO gives the opportunity for all ages to get a proper education.

UNESCO and Bilingual Education
1. Supports mother tongue instruction to help improve the quality of education to help build the knowledge and experience of the learners and teachers.
2. Supports bilingual and/or multilingual education. Encourages social and gender equality as a key element of linguistically diverse societies.
3. Supports language as an essential component of inter-cultural education. This helps to encourage understanding between different population groups and guarantee respect for fundamental rights.

Association for the Advancement of international Education (AAIE) and Bilingual Education
AAIE’s goal is as a global community to connect diverse people, ideas, and resources, AAIE helps international educators lead with vision, wisdom and integrity. AAIE is designed to meet the diverse needs of its memberships. AAIE endeavors through its many leadership services to connect people, ideas, and resources worldwide. It does this by providing opportunities for professional leadership development, personal growth, networking, and access to a broad menu of global leadership resources and forums.

It was surprising difficult to find international organizations that support bilingual education.
